This itinerary is the way to discover and love the Valle d’Itria, renowned for its natural beauty.
Starting from Alberobello, the city of Trulli (UNESCO Heritage Site), you will go to Martina Franca. Its old town is rich of elegant Baroque architecture. Cycling along the “Ciclovia dell’Acquedotto” (Aqueduct cycle path) you will discover the centenary aqueduct, the second in Europe for its dimensions and reach Locorotondo, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. On the way back, you will see the typical houses of the Valle d’Itria (Trulli, farmhouses and “Masserie”) crossing paths far from urban traffic. Before returning the bikes, free visit to a Trullo characterized by a historical floor from the 1700’s. Tasting of typical products such as jams and marmalades produced using fresh fruit locally grown, natural, genuine and healthy. We’ll taste jams with cherries, prickly pears and fioroni (typical apulian fruit) on a slice of bread and 3 Rosoli, the liqueurs of the past born in the Convents of the territory. These liqueur’s have a low alcohol content, and it’s distilled and alcoholized with the flowers and fruits of our countryside, produced by traditional methods taken from ancient recipes.
