This itinerary is the best way to discover and love the “Valle d’Itria”, famous for its natural beauty.
Starting from Alberobello, the city of Trulli (UNESCO Heritage Site), you will go to Martina Franca. Its old town is rich in elegant Baroque architecture. Cycling along the “Ciclovia dell’Acquedotto” (Aqueduct cycle path) you will discover the 100-year-old aqueduct, the second in Europe for its dimensions, and then reach Locorotondo, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. On your way back, you will see the typical houses of the Valle d’Itria (Trulloes, farmhouses and “Masserie”) crossing paths far from the urban traffic. Before returning the bikes, free visit to a Trullo characterized by a historical floor dating back to the 1700s. Tasting of typical products, such as jams and marmalades made with locally grown fresh fruit. Natural, genuine and healthy. We will taste cherry, prickly pear and fioroni (typical apulian figs) jams on a slice of bread, and 3 Rosoli, the liqueurs of the past created in the Convents of the territory. Rosoli have low alcohol content, and are made with the flowers and fruits of our countryside, produced with traditional methods taken from ancient recipes.
